Child Guidance Centre

Children with developmental learning and behavioural problems

Multidisciplinary team of social worker, child development worker, psychiatrist, clinical  psychologist and speech therapist

Conduct parental interviews to know the patterns of child's behaviours and reasons or his/her problem. Make behavior assessments of the child in social and psychological domain

  • Extensive parental counseling to enable them to understand the child's problem

  • Play therapy and individualized counselling of the child

    Child Care Centre
     

    To provide hands-on experience to the trainees undergoing training at the Institute

    Children in the age group of 3-5 years from Lower Income Groups

    An efficient Bal-sevika under supportive and active supervision of an Assistant Director with specialization in pre-school education and psycho-social development of Children

    Organise age-specific activities for children in a stimulating and child friendly environment to cater to their cognitive, physical, social  and emotional development.

     
    Adolescent Guidance Services Centre
     

    To develop a data base on adolescent issues for designing a preventive, promotive and rehabilitative programmes, to address developmental and preventive concerns of adolescents in schools and to provide comprehensive counseling services to adolescents

    For adolescents between the age group of 10-19 years.

    • A visiting team of health and mental health professionals from the Institute along with all the stakeholders in school namely principal, teachers, adolescents themselves etc.

    • A multidisciplinary team of professional comprising psychiatrist, physician, psychologist, social worker and nutritionist 

    • Need assessment with stakeholders to design specific mental health intervention in schools and to develop data base

    • The counselling services for Adolescents having emotional, behavioural and academic difficulties are provided within the Institute. A warm relationship is established with the adolescent; the concerns and problems identified jointly; and counselling goals are worked out with the adolescent. The process is facilitated through multi facilitated assessment viz. cognitive and personality assessment; health checkup, psychiatric assessment etc. The Interventions available include cognitive behaviour therapy; study skill training, stress management, nutritional counselling etc.
